plasma-desktop doesn't start (KDE 4.3.90)

After login i have no desktop, no panel, widget, only screen from kdm login.
I can manually start plasma with ALT + F2 and "plasma-desktop" or add plasma-desktop in SystemSettings > Advanced > Autostart to get it working on bootup.

Does the KDE crash dialog appear? Could you install kdebase-workspace-dbg and get a backtrace from the second tab of that dialog?

Can you try removing/moving all plasma related files from ~/.kde/Autostart and then restart X server? I'm running 4.3.90 on Karmic and I can't reproduce this. Will try in Lucid very soon.

I just restart my Kubuntu, and KDE crash dialog doesn't appear, I also tried remove /.kde folder but still the same problem. I can install kdebase-workspace-dbg but with no KDE crash dialog i don't now how to get a backtrace?

After today's update plasma-desktop still doesn't start and when i start it manually missing panel

I find the problem, after deleted /.config folder. plasma-desktop work fine :)

Yes, confirmed again. After a fresh installation of 10.04_beta1 (sorry for the typo above) of Kubuntu NE, setup for automatic login, changing plasma formfactor from netbook to desktop, plasma-desktop will not start automatically.

Commenting out "X-KDE-autostart-condition=plasma-desktoprc:Global:AutoStart:true" seems to solve the issue.

There seem to be two relevant files in my system: /usr/share/autostart/plasma-desktop.desktop (plasma-desktop 4:4.4.1-0ubuntu6) and /usr/share/kubuntu-netbook-default-settings/share/autostart/plasma-desktop.desktop (kubuntu-netbook-default-settings 10.04.4). Only the latter contains the problematic line.

Deleting ~/.config/autostart/plasma-* does NOT solve the issue. KDE will automatically switch to the netbook formfactor upon next start, and reenabling the desktop formfactor will restore the broken files.
