RSSNOW and News applet don't work

In KDE 4.2 Beta 2 packages (kdeplasma-addons 4:4.1.85), the LCD Weather, RSSNOW and News applets don't work. They open fine on the desktop, but none of them can retrieve any data. Running 'plasmaengineexplorer' and looking under the category 'Weather', for example, shows that no data engine is running. It was confirmed to me that these plasmoids work fine in trunk.

The weather and rss dataengines live in kdebase-workspace. If there's a problem it's probably going to be there rather than kdeplasma-addons.

Same here on kubuntu jaunty alpha 2 (clean install) and previously on intrepid with KDE 4.2 . RSSNow and LCD weather station seem unable to find a dataengine. Running 'plasmoidviewer rssnow' produces an "findServiceByDesktopPath: not found" error.

After upgrading to KDE 4.2 RC LCD weather station works perfectly finding 3 dataengines. Rssnow and News plasmoids are still unusable.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the weather applet not working was due to a bug in KDE itself, since we were including the dataengine. And since that works now, the rest of it is pretty much bug 315155, which already has a number of dupes assigned to it. For that reason I will make this bug a duplicate of that even if it was technically reported before that one.
