I agree that a "normal window" resizing mode should be introduced and I like the idea of a "resize mode" as proposed by Sel Goona, while still retaining the current resize method in some way so that there is not always a two step process required to change the size. However, I see how this could lead to a confusing interface that would have, in essence, two resize buttons. A possible solution may be to leave the current button as is, but also have corners that fade in when the plasmoid has focus that could be used to alter the size.

However, I do not like the idea of the handles always being visible while in edit mode. I think this would add a great visual distraction to the edit screen and could get in the way of visualizing a layout (I would have to leave the edit mode to be sure that it looks as I expect).

Basically, any solution that allows me to resize plasmoids as regular windows would be greatly appreciated.
