Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

As identified in the comments of another bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/211266), autologin doesn't work even when running systemsettings as root.

(i.e. systemsettings (as root) -> Login manager (under "System") -> Convenience tab -> "Enable Auto-login" -> Choose a user to login with)

When you next startup and attempt an autologin, it fails to authenticate.

This seems to be a problem with how permissions are setup in ubuntu for kdm/kde4 (as it works with kdm/kde3).
