kdebase-runtime 4:4.0.3-0ubuntu2
1) run khotnewstuff
2) get window: khotnewstuff - and application shows an empty page

This is only an issue with the kde3 version of khotnewstuff.
If you run khotnewstuff4 from the console, you'll be told that you need to have a .knsrc file as an argument. The reason you get this error with khotnewstuff is that it will start even if you don't give a providers list.
