Here using:

Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2))
kdelibs svn rev. 898705 / kdebase svn rev. 898705
on ArchLinux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.27.8

trying to upload some file to MediaFire using the basic uploader doesn't work.

After trying to upload a simple text file (3Kb) , Konqueror redirects to "http://upload.mediafire.com/somerandomstring" with the title "Loading..." and the text was: "The browser you are using does not support redirect \n Please click here to continue." (?)

----

Another time the source was:

<html><head><title>Loading...</title><script language="JavaScript">
<!--
func

like the page stopped loading before showing the "The browser you are using does not support redirect" message.

---

I suppose this is a JS bug.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178166
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!

here on kubuntu 9.10 it works now

not because khtml was fixed but because i think mediafire team has changed their uploader.

No, problem does still exists in Kubuntu 9.10 (KDE 4.3.4). mediafire did a workaround to use old style browser upload if flash does not work correctly.

I also have this problem with the Wordpress and Facebook media upload (Flash upload does not work).

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
