Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

gdm has entry for kde but kde is not fully installed and trying to launch KDE it follows with a black screen.
I was able to get Alt F2 klauncher but that's all.
I did install kde core package and more and kde is now able to launch.

Thank you for your bug report. Could you run "ls /usr/share/xsessions". Do you have a kde.desktop there? What binary package is shipping it?

Changed in gdm (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete
Sebastien Bacher (seb128) wrote :

kdebase-workspace-data seems to ship the .desktop but not the required commands with it, the .desktop should be installed in the same binary than the command and not the data one, reassigning to kdebase-workspace

affects: gdm (Ubuntu) → kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu)
