Bug Description
For many years I have been using azureus to download torrents. Azureus needs a graceful shutdown and I've been using a shutdown script for that since kde3. The problem is that with kubuntu 13.04 the script is not called even though System Settings seem to set it up correctly (it creates a symlink to my script into .kde/shutdown).
However to debug this problem there is no need to hassle with azureus. Just screate a script containing for example:
eject
sleep 10
or whatever you notice if it's happening or not, then go to system settings/startup and shutdown/autostart, press "add script", then add your file and finally set "run on"to shutdown.
What I experience on my computer is that nothing happens on shutdown or restart, however the script is executed correctly on logout.
I have another computer which (for reasons that have nothing to do with this bug) still runs kubuntu 12.04, on that computer my script is executed on shutdown and restart too. I would really need that functionality because not only I loose data in azureus (for example seed time/upload on private trackers) but sometimes I would like to do other stuff too on shutdown.
