KDE 4.9.4 refreshes screen brightness rapidly

After the chosen time for dimming the screen (in power management) the screen-brightness continues to change between 100% and the chosen value with a frequency way under 1/s.

Disabling the setting in the power manager does not help, restarting display manager does not help, rebooting helps from time to time.

This should be caused by commit 285553edce61f65a88d9067136bf138e44efb149 which will be reverted in the archive packages for 4.9.4.
