Bug Description
Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings
Just after installing kubuntu gutsy, I tried to configure networking. In systemsettings, Network Settings, Network Connections, admin mode, Configure Interface.
I set the following manual IP settings:
IP = 192.168.0.7
netmask = 255.255.255.0
broadcast = 192.168.0.255
gateway = 192.168.0.254
Clicked OK, and then Apply in the systemsettings module --> the error "The default Gateway IP address is invalid" error appears.
I don't see why - it's my gateway address and it's within the subnet, so it's definitely valid.
And when closing systemsettings all the changes are lost!!
I did the same configuration manually in /etc/network/
I am unable to reproduce this in Hardy. Please view the following attachment for proof. I even tried your same exact settings without any problems as well. Are you able to still reproduce this problem?
Bah, I just now realized who filed this bug :) Have you given this a shot in Hardy at all David?
