Bug Description

In kubuntu feisty fawn:

There is no way to turn off the (annoying) bouncing cursor using "system-settings". You have to run kcontrol from the command line, which is not good. In kcontrol the "lauchfeedback" is located in "appearance&theme" category.

I guess this bug is similar to 30104, but that guy doesn't mention these simple settings...

I can confirm this bug. Whether or not the systemsettings dev think this should go in is a different story.

If it were my decision, I would put the "Launch Feedback" option under Appearance in Systemsettings. That's where the other options that kcontrol puts under Appearance&Them are located in systemsettings.

Changed in kubuntu-meta:
status: Unconfirmed → Confirmed

I would put "Launch feedback" under the mouse settings, since it's got to do with the mouse cursor.

or maybe even a better solution would be, to turn off the bouncy cursor by default ...
then you don't need the setting in "system-settings", because i doubt anyone would want to turn that on :-)

Actually, I remember reading somewhere that when a large corporation
converted to a KDE-based desktop, one of the things they mentioned
that their users particularly liked was the bouncing icon. I guess
everyone's tastes are different.
