This is because Guidance still uses Xinerama and it is almost completely deprecated. As you found, xrandr is the currently supported approach. In KDE4 for Intrepid, we have a different tool that uses xrandr that replaces Guidance. Making Guidance use xrandr would require a significant redesign that simple isn't going to get done. |
