kde-guidance (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

You have searched for ixf86misc in feisty, architecture i386.
Found 2 matching files/directories, displaying files/directories 1 to 2.

usr/lib/python-support/kde-guidance/python2.5/ kde/kde-guidance
usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ admin/displayconfig-gtk

we should consider factoring this out into a python-ixf86misc package.

For sure. displayconfig-gtk required some changes that could not be included in the stablized guidance code base. Furthermore displayconfig-gtk was written and released some weeks ago so consider it a kind of prototype.

I would like to see coorperation in this issue too.

Moving some of these common modules out of guidance and into something that can be shared, is on my TODO list.

In the meantime, it would be a (very) good idea to package displayconfig-gtk's so that is is placed under /usr/lib/python-support/displayconfig-gtk/python2.5/. This will help avoid any confusing 'import' accidents with kde-guidance picking up the wrong version of We've got a couple of weird module import bugs listed for kde-guidance which we are having trouble figuring out.
