dolphin does not display previews for RAW image files

hi,

System is a freshly installed 12.04
dolphin package version : 4:4.8.5-0ubuntu0.1

I have Dolphin set to show previews for local image files of size < 50MiB
this works just great for regular files (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc...) but fails for Canon RAW files

mime type = image/x-canon-cr2

I emptied ${HOME}/.thumbnails to force new thumbnails creation but no improvement

Here is a screen capture showing that :

- Preview display is on
- Dolphin is set to display previews for local digital camera RAW files with size < 1024MB ( I know that's large)
- in icon mouse hover, tooltip shows thumbnail which has been created in ${HOME}/.thumbnails
- Preview is empty (default balloon image)
