Bug Description

Binary package hint: kaffeine

This could be a duplicate of bug 428884.
But as far as I can see this problem hasn't been reported for lucid. It is still present however.

Comment cited from over there:
Been on Lucid since beta 1. Upgraded to the latest package versions just yesterday. For the first time since the migration to KDE4 apps I kept the Kaffeine upgrade (0.8.7 to 1.0). Since this is marked duplicate of bug 531306 I should note here that when using Kaffeine screen saver inhibition, or at least stand-by inhibition, is not working when watching tv from dvb.

btw, this problem occurred in the KDE3 version package as well, was then caused by a missing build dependency (I think) and was solved with a ppa package. (bug 365770)

my dears...

i really don't mind if this is a duplicate or not...
by the way... what the hell can be a REAL/WORKING solution?!??

I'm so bored of ppl that writes, writes, writes but concretely do NOTHING...

I've just read about 45 unuseful posts... lost a whole evening...
(and 2 more to have a fuckin usb dvb-t stick working...)

Have I any working alternative to kaffeine (running gnome/lucid-x64 on amd athlon dual core)?

Have I any PATCH to get kaffeine working?
Have I any work around?

Thanx a lot to anyone will give me a SOLUTION!

Sincerely
Luca

For DVB use VLC, better and screensaver works as expected. If you need kaffeine use 0.8.8 from a PPA:
