k9copy in natty: crash on extraction

After update to kubuntu 11.04, k9copy (v2.3.6 on KDE 4.6.2) stopped working and keeps crashing after a few seconds into the .mpg extraction process; simple extraction of the mpeg stream, no compression or anything. This is reproducible every time with various DVDs, including some read by k9copy of 10.10 only a few days before the update.

Mostly the application dies silently, without any notification, but sometimes the KDE crash dialog comes up. Then I tried to install the debug packages to provide a backtrace, but it says that it "Could not find debug symbol packages for this application.".
