Bug Description

Binary package hint: k3b

Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.1 LTS
K3b version 1.91.0~rc2-0ubuntu3 0

I tried to use K3b's tools/erase option to blank a CDRW on a Compaq nc6400 dual core machine. K3b attempts to erase, but aborts with the error "cdrecord has no permission to open the device" This error was repeated several times on several different nc6400s. This seems to be related to this release of Lucid and not K3b specific - similar errors occur with Brasero or when trying to use cdrecord from the command line.

Note: K3b subsequently erases the same disc with no problem from a machine running Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
