Bug Description

Binary package hint: k3b

I have Kubuntu 9.10 with Kde 4.3.2 on my new Asus K51AC computer.
When I try to burn a CD, there are allways crashes, so I made my last trys on a RW CD, which I can format without problems but no burnig possible.
After the lead in it crashes and says: buffer underrun, not enough rights. etc
I use the k3b setup and have the following rights:
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSAT50N /dev/sr0/ 660 root.cdrom
and
cdrdao 1.2.2 /usr/bin/cdrdao 4711 root.root
cdrecord 1.1.9 /usr/bin/wodim 4711 root.root
growisofs 7.1 /usr/bin/growisofs 0755 root.root

I have also a Toshiba satellite 420 (2003) with kubuntu 9.10 on it and an old cd burner: it works without problems.
So in my opinion there is an incompatibility between k3b and the device.
Please try to find a solution.

The crash comes with different medias allways after the lead in is
written. I think this is a problem with the hardware. So if you also
have the same device or computer, just try to write some mp3-files on a
disc.
if you want, I attach the bug-report written by k3b:

I wrote a bug report also to the K3b maintainers who told me after reading my log that they have fixed the bug and solved the problem.
Since my first comment, there was an issue of a new distribution of Kubuntu. And with the new Kubuntu 10.4 there is also shipped the newest version of K3b with the bug fixed so that I have no more problems.
Sorry, I forgot this report on launchpad.net, otherwise I 'd have written an answer.
Greetings
Nono
