Bug Description

Binary package hint: k3b

Hello,

I'm using Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 with linux kernel server 2.6.27-11 version.
My DVD Writer is an LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B DL13 (DL13 is the latest firmware..I just upgraded today).

From the various tests I did I can conclude:
1) On Windows it works no prob so the drive is not defective
2) On Linux : it works with the nautilus integrated cd writing app but if I use K3B, Brasero, Gnome Baker, etc then I get:

:-[ WRITE@LBA=220h failed with SK=0h/ASC=00h/ACQ=02h]: Input/output error
:-( write failed: Input/output error
/dev/scd0: flushing cache
:-[ SYNCHRONOUS FLUSH CACHE failed with SK=3h/ASC=A0h/ACQ=80h]: Input/output error

and everything fails.

The whole output from K3B for example is at:
http://pastebin.com/mb087ff5

I have no idea how to solve this any longer and I suspect a bug in the dvd-rw tools package.

The data about my system has been included in the all.txt file separated by new lines for the various outputs(dmesg, lspci, etc).

Thank you.
