Bug Description

Writing a CD or DVD with k3b is according the selected speed, but verifying
takes a very long time. It could take hours for a data-DVD. When verifying, the
DVD-burner does not speedup, and the total CPU usage is about 10%

Writing a data-DVD without verify and using a 'diff'-tool afterwards is much faster.

K3b: 0.12.2
Ubuntu: 5.10
Kernel: K7
DVD-burner: Philips DVDR1640

Hi jdo,

Do you still have this issue when using the latest packages on Dapper Beta?
If you do then maybe we can start to figure out what is going wrong.

Verify is fast now !

I tried the flight-7, with all updates, and made sure the DMA was set for my writer.
Writing 2.8 GB to a DVD+RW at 2X took 16 minutes.
Verifying took only 8 minutes. So the problem has gone.

kind regards.
