Bug Description

This series of juju is not going to be developed further in yakkety. It depends on juju-mongodb which now ftbfs so rather than expend any effort fixing that let's just delete it all.

Should we also remove juju-deployer, etc? AIUI, that functionality is included inside Juju 2.

Can we get a working, supported, final Juju 2.0 in the archive before we consider removing Juju 1.x please?

Doing what you suggest right now would effectively completely break someone who's using the dev release on their laptop and happens to care about Juju use in production.

fixing juju-mongodb due to FTBFS is easy, it was on my list to fix. And 3.2 FTBFS too.

Oh ok. Let's hold off on this for a bit then...

I fixed that one.

@mwhudson, a new version of juju-core-1, 1.25.6, is being uploaded into yakkety. I agree with the package removal, but given the extended timeline for juju 2.0, it's possible yakkety retains juju-core-1. Let's revisit this before FF. I definitely agree with not including it in Z.

mongodb FTBFS fix was trivial.

2.0 is not stable yet, thus the only production ready juju is juju-core-1.

Most deployed production juju environments at the moment are done with juju-core-1, and thus we need client to remain in Ubuntu to connect to those environments.

Given juju2 is now RC and has promises of being upgradeable, I think this is safe to move forward on. For folks who have to have it, it will be in the stable juju ppa.
