Bug Description

As soon as I begin recording I receive the error messsage "GStreamer encountered a general resource error." I've tried removing and reinstalling Jokosher but this has not helped.

I get the same message when playing back a track. The playback itself works fine as far as I can tell, I just get that message popping up every time.

I have never been able to get Jokosher to run reliably on any of my computers since I first started using Ubuntu (8.04...now up to 9.10). There are Gstreamer errors almost constantly, or lockups. I recently re-installed Karmic, and can actually record different tracks without errors. Any attempt to play back generates the gstreamer error mentioned above. Going into preferences and changing the Playback Sound System causes the error to go away for one playback...but a rewind and second playback brings the error back. Mixdown to MP3 or WAV freezes at 48%. Mixdown to FLAC introduces an echo effect that was not in the original tracks. This program is like a glass sculpture...extremely beautiful, but the moment you touch it, it breaks.

...I stand corrected...the FLAC mixdown was okay, and I can't consistently reproduce the other mixdown freezes. I'll keep trying. The GStreamer playback errors still are consistently shown though.

I also get this error. If I manually select "PulseAudio" in the preferences menu, the problem goes away for one playback. If I stop and then click Play again, I get the Gstreamer error and have to go back to the preferences menu to fix it.

I get the same error every time I playback or record anything. It doesn't seem to affect either playback or recording, though.

I got the same error message just after a fresh install on Karmic Koala, but it went away after i went to [Edit]->[Preferences] and changed both Sound Systems to ALSA.. It works perfectly now.
I hope this is helpful...
