Bug Description

Binary package hint: john

1.) Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS server
2.) john 1.7.3.1-1
3.) load hash from shadowfile
4.) "No password hashes loaded"

Ubuntu 9.04 and above due to the lack of support to sha-512 encryption. They give error "No password hashes loaded".

After having this issue with Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS server, i followed the directions of this website and now have it working

http://pka.engr.ccny.cuny.edu/~jmao/node/26

Simple edit of makefile, creation of crypt_fmt.c and the addition of 2 lines in john.c
however, since i was resorting to source, i updated to 1.7.6 whereas official package is 1.7.3.1-1
