As this is a firmware related issue I'd suggest placing it against "linuxtv-dvb-apps" as this is the package that contains such, you may also get some further advice on this by joining on IRC (freenode) #linuxtv and posting a question there to see if anyone else has or has had a similar issue and if they were able to resolve it.

Way back in the Ubuntu 8.04 days I had to compile this package from source because the DVB-T device I use at that time wasn't included in this, this may not be the case for you but it was for me...

Worth a try ;-)

Scott I know how to manually fix this problem I just want to get ubuntu to automatically do this. The linuxtv-dvb-apps team should know what to do with it

workaround for this error is to place file dvb-fe-tda10045.fw into /lib/firmware

I have been advised that this is a jockey-gtk problem

Jockey has been superseded by software-properties, which now handles
third-party driver configuration.

No recent bug activity, so closing it.
