Jockey crashes when activating hardware driver

Bug #502363 reported by Tyler Burton on 2010-01-02

jockey (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

What I was doing when the application crashed:
In Kubuntu, Hardware Drivers (jockey) presents me with the correct ATI driver for my GPU. When I click Activate it hangs, does nothing, or crashes. I have tried restarting, or closing the application and trying again and nothing works. I even ran it from the command line to see if it generated any output but there was nothing.

I pulled the following from DrKonqi

Application that crashed:
Version of the application: 1.0
KDE Version: 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2)
Qt Version: 4.5.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-16-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

I should be a little bit more specific with this. I am referring to jockey-kde. I was able to enable the driver using jockey-text but I still cannot enable compositing.
