Bug Description
Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter
Trying to install ubuntu 9.10 on Asus a6000 for second time,after failing to get wireless connetion working first time round. During installation, message "No proprietary drivers are in use on this system".
BroadbandnB43 wireless driver.
After pressing activate button it comes back with "System error: InstallArchives
Didn't have any problems with 8.04, but gave up Ubuntu after trying unsuccessfully to update to 9.04. Seems 9.10 may have the same problems. Strangely, I use EEEbuntu 8.04 on my AsusEEE without problems, but if I update to 9.04 it doesn't work.....

Just to say I fixed the wireless connection problem in Ubuntu 9xx by connecting to the internet via an ethernet cable, and (re)installing the driver through Synaptics (search "B43" brought up B43-fwcutter_
Can't understand why this driver isn't installed correctly during the installation process.......
I now have to fix another problem involving rubbish display colours and definition.
Nearly there..
