Bug Description

Binary package hint: jabberd2-bdb

On the gutsy amd64 version, the directory /etc/jabberd2/component.d is empty. It should contain the individual startup scripts for the different components of the jabber server, so nothing gets started up on amd64. I extracted the scripts from the i386 package, and they worked as is.

Same here, using the amd64 jabberd2-ldap-mysql package.

Attaching a tarball of the component.d directory as a workaround for those without access to a i386 platform, or without the time or skills to find/extract the necessaries from an i386 deb (while waiting for this bug to be dealt with).

I can confirm that this is also the case for the jabberd2-mysql package.

it's true for all the amd64 and PowerPC jabberd2 packages! it seems they were forgotten when the source was compiled for those arch'es. Simple mistake, since they are not platform dependent.

Files also missing from jabberd2-pgsql on amd64 (Hardy 8.04). Copying in files from i386 works fine though.
