istanbul does not start - no program window

Bug Description
Well, the summary is program.
When I start istanbul it appears in the system monitor, but no program window is shown.
Ive catched it with apport on itś PID.
Additional: It keeps running in that windowsless state until I kill it manually over the system monitor.

That's a problem when running under Unity, the developers of unity decided it would be a good idea to only allow some closed-source software to access the new status area and have all other opensource software be patched.
