Bug Description

Binary package hint: istanbul

When I click the stop button in the panel, Istanbul displays some window in split second and then crashes. Here's what gets displayed in the terminal it's run from:

The program 'istanbul' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
  (Details: serial 3306 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Additional Info:

When I click the record button, terminal says:

DEBUG: final pipeline: istximagesrc name=videosource display-name=:0.0 screen-num=0 ! video/x-raw-rgb,framerate=10/1 ! videorate ! ffmpegcolorspace ! videoscale method=1 ! video/x-raw-yuv,width=1680,height=1050,framerate=10/1 ! theoraenc ! oggmux name=mux ! filesink location=/tmp/tmpQ1L5Sc

I don't think this is a duplicate of bug #86281, which seems to be sound related. This happens using the program defaults (no sound, no mouse pointer, etc).

I can't see why this is marked as a duplicate of #86281 . The bugs seem totally unrelated to me.
