Instanbul locks up at save when compiz desktop effects are enabled but "record 3D" option is not

Bug Description
Binary package hint: istanbul
Note this is *not* a hard crash, the process just goes to 0% CPU must be killed via users method of choice. This bug has extremely similar symptomology to bug 63996
Test Case 1 (Lockup Causing):
1. Enable desktop effects via system-
2. Start istanbul and uncheck the "record 3D" option
3. Let istanbul record the desktop for a few seconds, then end the recording via a left click on the icon.
Expected Behavior: Istanbul prompts the user for the directory in which to save the recording file and returns to the system tray in non-recording mode.
Observed Behavior: Nothing happens. Tray icon no longer displays tooltip or responds to input. istanbul process must be killed via terminal/
Test Case 2 (Works Fine):
1. Disable desktop effects via system-
2. Start istanbul and make sure the record 3D option is unchecked
3. Let istanbul record the desktop for a few seconds, then end the recording via a left click on the icon.

I've confirmed this bug based on the comments in bug 63996.
