Cannot remove ipppd

Binary package hint: ipppd

Recently I tried to install a couple of vpn/ppp packages and by accident I installed ipppd to.
When it came to "select your isp's phone number" I simply selected "Cancel" but it came up twice more.

Now I cannot remove the package (ipppd) and get this error when trying to:

I can confirm this bug.
by accident I installed ipppd and now it couldn't be removed.

Running Jaunty beta.

The only thing I can add is that I checked (cross-referenced) all Dependencies and Dependants, end even after removal of them all (total removal) i get the subprocess error on ¨ipppd¨ 1:3.12.20071127-0ubuntu5 and it gives
me a info that package failed to Install or upgrade.

Fully confirmed with Jaunty Release here.

You need to edit /etc/isdn/init.d.functions and modify all occurence to "./MAKEDEV" by "/sbin/MAKEDEV"

good hint, pfoo, but you need to edit /var/lib/dpgk/info/ipppd.preinst and modify all occurences of "./MAKEDEV" by "/sbin/MAKEDEV".

Worked for me on Jaunty release.

Now sure that it does anyone any good but I can confirm that the init.d.functions script is broken on Jaunty release as well. The changes to Makedev references worked.

planblue, too it needed edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/ipppd.postinst
