Bug Description

Binary package hint: irda-utils

$ sudo aptitude remove irda-utils
...
Removing irda-utils ...

Note: I'd changed ENABLED="false" to ="true" in /etc/defaults/irda-utils, changing it back let it uninstall.

The same thing happened to me when upgrading edgy to feisty, with irda-utils unstalled and disabled. The installation continued after the warning, but was unable to clean old packages or even reboot.

I also ran into this bug when upgrading from edgy to feisty, having had irda-utils installed previously.

Eythian, your solution worked, thanks so much for reporting it here :-).

I can't believe though that there's not an updated package out there, afterall feisty has been out for a long time, this bug report is months old!
