SRU justification: package is completely uninstallable in jaunty, because it calls a non-existing utility in the postinst.
Addressed in karmic, as indicated in the bug log below.
TEST CASE: try to install the irda-utils package in jaunty. It will fail. Then enable jaunty-proposed and try again.
REGRESSION POTENTIAL: because the package is uninstallable in jaunty, and was so for much of the release cycle, it is possible that successful installation of the package will introduce other regressions in untested code paths. However, the theoretical possibility of such a regression does not outweigh the need for an installable package. |
