Bug Description
filter TCP state name LISTEN is documented as 'listen', but implementation only recognises 'listening'.
Additional suggestions:
SS filter documentation needs improvement:
- at least a summary of filter syntax should appear in the man page
- getting at the syntax should not require installing a separate package
- filter state names should be recognised in all canonical spellings (this is more for the implementation, not doc)
- case (in)sensitivity should be documented

It would be really nice if you could work out a patch for the issues you've identified to update the manpage (which needs alot of love but receives very little)....
There are lots of other suggestions on topics to update the documentation for in the iproute2 package at http:// bugs.debian. org/src: iproute if you feel inspired to work on some more while at it ....
Feel free to send your patches to me, the debian bug tracking system (where I'll pick them up and forward upstream) or even better the upstream mailing list. I don't think there are anyone looking after iproute in launchpad....
