Are you using the Gnome or KDE desktop?

Just added a duplicate from Ubuntu, so I have marked this as confirmed. It looks like the problem only occurs with mac4lin.

This is still a problem in Natty. The effect is exactly the same as in the screenshot by jezdonline, and I am running Gnome/Mac4Lin. I guess one could suspect Mac4Lin as a source of the problem, but it makes Inkscape stand out from innumerable other apps that show no ill effects of any kind in this environment, and even Inkscape itself worked fine until about a year ago (I forget which version of Ubuntu I used then, but it was no more than a month behind current). Note that Mac4Lin is older than that, so whatever causes it must have changed in Inkscape or Gnome.

Changing named_nodelay from 0 to 1 in iconrender fixes it -- many thanks to Kaitzu for figuring that out.

Thank to Kaitzu,
In ubuntu 12.04 with "elementary" theme, works too.

mac4lin theme has not been updated since 2009. Can this be closed or is someone still experiencing this?

As we are heading for 17.10 already, is this still a valid report?

Closing as there has been no response for over a year. If this is still an issue with a supported platform and the latest Inkscape version, please file a new bug here: https://inkscape.org/report. Thank you!
