Can't select border color using Unity

Whenever I'm using Unity I can't get Inkscape to select the border color for an element. Whenever you use the grey bar (drive.google.com/file/d/0B54tZJ3fA3lVRHNFRS1XV0RDMzg/edit?usp=sharing) to navigate through the colors you can select the color with a right click but if you try to click with the left button it won't open the menu. Sometimes it does show the menu but it shows it empty for some reason (with no options to choose). The only solution to fix it is to restart Inkscake.I know it can be done with Shift + Click but it's kind of annoying for new users. I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and Inkscape 0.48.4 by the way. Sorry for my English, I'm still learning it and thanks in advance.

Might you be able to test this in a terminal:

$ LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 inkscape
