after a period I can't use the keyboard inside inkscape window

It doesn't matter if it's for typing inside a box text, to change values in numeric boxes (for width, etc) or to write a filename when saving.

I've had this same problem. Saving through the menu and restarting fixes it for me, but when it happens every few minutes, even that becomes annoying.
