Bug Description

After ungrouping, I am unable to access all objects. It seems one of them disappears completely.

I am attaching the incriminated file.

After playing around a bit with that, I managed to access the "sky" part (Earth, ray arrows...) by "Object -> Clip -> Release".

But there is still at least one object missing - the gray factories background. I am unable to access that.

Reproduced on Crunchbang Waldorf, Inkscape 0.48.3.1 and trunk revision 13437.

Also note that the trunk version crashes when doing various things with the file (ungrouping, moving, undoing...). I'll try to investigate the crash later.

Crash not reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape trunk revision 13502. Possibly fixed by the patch committed revision 13474.

Hi - thanks for reporting this bug

I replicate in 0.48.0 Windows 11 (actually if you keep ungrouping, the grey factory does indeed come back) and is no longer a problem in 0.92.4 Windows 11, or Inkscape 0.92.5 (0ad1ac969f, 2020-08-06) Linux Mint 20

Closing as fixed.

Eep! I can't change the status back, but I thought to check on the latest version (inkscape 1.2) and the bug is back.

If you decide to move to 1.2, the issue will be tracked at our new bug tracker at https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/7109
