Bug #82351 probably needs to be fixed first.

Kernel doesn't need to implement anything. This is all userspace.

I *think* this bug description should be modified to indicate that "hiberation" to swap files is broken rather than "suspend".

I'm using a swap file in Hardy and I can suspend/resume just fine.

I cannot, however, hibernate/resume using my swap file.

And to be perfectly precise (even pedantic), I can hibernate to a swap file just fine....but I cannot resume from it ;-)

Recent activity in bug 224697 says that "Reportedly, resuming from a swap file works just fine" as of Intrepid. Does anything remain to be done here?

Not sure, swap files are something I want to spent a little time on in
the next release and make sure they *really* work properly.

Being able to have growable and shrinkable swap files has other
benefits.
