It seems that you've run out of memory when trying build a new initramfs.

Setting up initramfs-tools (0.98.8ubuntu3.1) ...
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
lzma: Cannot allocate memory
dpkg: error processing initramfs-tools (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Brian, IIRC I did this on my older machine with 512MB of memory, should have been sufficient for Live-USB, right? I have always had problems with this going back to earlier releases of Ubuntu. I'm away from my computer right now, but I'll try it again with more memory ASAP.
