Bug Description
Binary package hint: initramfs-tools
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat), package initramfs-tools 0.98.1ubuntu6. Upon booting, I was notified that proprietary drivers were available for my NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE, and even went so far as to recommend a driver known to Ubuntu as "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version current)". And I was dumb enough to instruct Ubuntu to "Activate" this driver, and, after a period during which Ubuntu appeared to download the required files correctly, it tried to install the driver, but the installation process crashed.
