Title: package linux-backports
Uname: Linux 2.6.31-15-generic x86_64
i used the "old kernel cleanup" functionlity in Ubuntu-Tweak the get rid of old kernel stuff after upgrading to the latest 2.6.31-20 Kernel. I assume that Ubuntu Tweak just did the same as if i would have manually forgotten to deinstall this package in Synaptic. (That's why i try Ubuntu Tweak ... it's always to tedious to clean out old kernel stuff in Synaptic...)
probably everything excpet this package was deinstalled and once it was alone and couldn't fumble around on the initrd (amongst others) on deinstall it didn't want to deinstall. error: package linux-backports -modules- 2.6.31- 19-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-removal-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück ...
I don't regard it much as a bug - but more of sthg. i did wrong only that some kind of monitoring/crash reporting SW showed a problem and asked me to report it here. Actually it seems that Ubuntu tweak did uninstall the backports modles but didn't purge it. so i installed it again (+ol kernel as a dependancy) just to purge it afterwards - including old kernel - problem solved for me.
hmmmm ... one thing pops to mind though. Is it possible to make this package able to remove the config files / purge the package after deinstall completely, even when kernel is already gone?
