I dist-upgrade to dapper from Hoary.
Upon rebooting into the 2.6.15-19-686 kernel, the boot process stopped at loading the /root/ directory and dropped me into a BusyBox terminal prompt.
The error message was "ALERT! /dev/mapper/Ubuntu-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell!"
I later tried booting into the older 2.6.12-10-686 kernel, and there were errors on bootup regarding hotplug.
So essentially, I have a computer without hotplug now, where I had a computer (laptop) with everything before the dist-upgrade.
Please let me know if I can provide additional information. Any clues as to how to get the information would be much appreciated!
