Bug Description

I'm using latest mkinitramfs and linux-image from dapper :
ii initramfs-tools 0.40ubuntu8
ii linux-image-2.6.15-8-386 2.6.15-8.10

I'm forced to add 'piix' module to /etc/mkinitramfs/modules and run update-initramfs to allow my laptop to boot.
Otherwise, kernel couldn't find my 'system' VG (under LVM)

Can you try cleansing your config and running update-initramfs -u again with the latest kernel/udev/initramfs-tools from dapper and tell me if this is still problematic for you?

Drive detection was spiffed up a fair bit a couple of days ago, and your problem should (hopefully) be solved.
