Bug Description

update-grub hangs entire system at found initrd indefinitely.
If I temporarily hard-reboot and add `acpi=off` to kernel params, update-grub finishes.

This is a fresh "Erase disk and Reinstall" of a Minimal from yesterdays bionic iso

This, from Dmesg.txt, is likely related:

[ 678.099232] cp[15936]: segfault at ffffffffffffffb8 ip 00007f36c0c6362c sp 00007ffe6e61df00 error 5 in libattr.so.1.1.0[7f36c0c61000+4000]

Are you able to recreate this on a regular basis?

If so please try reinstalling libattr1 and then trying it again.
