Bug Description

Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

When I try to create an initramfs image for a kernel that has custom root directory, the "update-initramfs" script fails to find out any modules. Upon looking at the script I see that it doesn't pass in the alternate ROOT information to the "mkinitramfs" script.

[root@INDBNG1172:~/target] ls */*
boot/config-2.6.18
boot/System.map-2.6.18
boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18

lib/modules:
2.6.18

update-initramfs -c -b /root/target/boot -k 2.6.18 -v

Failes to find "/lib/modules/..."

Try using the -v flag with update-initramfs. This will cause everything that is being done to be written to the console output.
