Bug Description

After updating my VMWare Player install of Ubuntu 14.04 amd64 to linux-image-3.19.0-51-generic it fails to boot - plymouth appears to hang during boot and so it never reaches the GDM login screen - also seems I am not alone:

Booting from the previous kernel 3.19.0-49-generic works fine.

I have the same problem on VMWare Workstation 10. Booting into previous kernel works fine.

I have the same problem on Vmware Player 12 and Vmware Workstation 11.
Fresh install of Ubuntu 15.10 downloaded yesterday, first pack of updates(suggested from update manager) and then with first reboot it fails to load, showing only the white cursor.

Sorry for second post but I can't find how to delete my previous.
I posted in the wrong bug thread, my problem is with the 4.2.0-30 kernel.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (with 3.19-62) on VMware ESXi 6.0 is effected too.
Reverted to older version was the workaround to getting a "working" Ubuntu again.
