Bug Description
Experiencing several booting issues on that system with old hardware: 1 pata hdd + 1 sata hdd + 4 Gb ram
This is with fresh different installations, all i386, ext4:
1) ubuntu : precise/
- get bad loading experience (about 50 % of the time) :
* seems a not optimal initramfs-
- initramfs-tools package on Trusty, even if it has been updated recently, seems to be way older than the Jessy/Sid version.
2) debian Jessy installation
- the initramfs-tools package is much up-to-date : 0.115 (instead of 0.103 on ubuntu)
- the loading nightmare here does not exist (that's the most important to me)
- Jessie load must faster than saucy/trusty : looks like that only the needed modules are loaded (ubuntu load all of them by default)
Looking at (trusty):
- /etc/initramfs-
- /etc/initramfs-
* MODULES=most : maybe "dep" should be used to get a shorter modules list to load
* COMPCACHE_SIZE="" : zram is now used (if wanted)
So please review that important config for booting (syncing or merging the debian package seems needed asap)

way better experience now when booting with 'systemd' on Utopic. Hopes Trusty & Precise to use 'systemd' too.
