Bug Description

Steps:
1. Play an album in the music player
2. Pull down sound indicator
3. Click forward button

Observed: the music does not advance
Expected: the music advances

Unlikely to be a bug in the sound menu, as that works with all other players.

if lars says it works with other players, it can't be unity8 either, guess that leaves media-hub

no longer affects: unity8 (Ubuntu)
Michael Zanetti (mzanetti) wrote :

Oh, this is actually in the media player app itself. Afaik it does playlist handling on its own instead of using the media hub's playlist capabilities, also doesn't implement mpris on its own, so it doesn't work.

this bug needs to be targeted after RTM, via ota

For this to work on media-hub we first need to implement playlist support, which is not trivial. Item available as part of the phone foundations backlog.

I am informed this just requires the support to be re-enabled in the UI is that correct?
If so we could consider for ota

Plan is to work on underlying background playlist support this next iteration, so this will be possible to re-enable in the next few weeks or so.

Right, can only land once the background playlist support is fully
implemented (too big for 14.09/RTM OTA).

Ricardo Salveti (rsalveti) wrote :

Our hope is for this to land between week 17-19, as it depends on background playlist support, which is currently in our sprint backlog.

Adding task for indicator-sound again as the new UX spec requires changes for the indicator as well.
