Cluttery/repeated playback controls

Bug Description

Currently the sound indicator shows the playback controls of *each* music/media player associated with it. I think this adds too much clutter, and is possibly a waste of space.

I am not sure, but in previous versions I think the controls were hidden unless I started the player clicking on its icon. (Maybe this is a regression?)

I have added a screenshot.
